It’s been a busy day for gamers: first, Nintendo unveils its new console, the Nintendo Switch, and then Rockstar Games drops the first trailer for its forthcoming Wild West sequel Red Dead Redemption 2. The video is less a trailer and more a teaser, with an ominous voiceover saying, “Listen to me. When the time comes, you gotta run and don’t look back. This is over.”
Details on Red Dead Redemption 2 are still sparse; if genuine, we do have a leaked copy of the game’s overworld map, and reports that it will feature more than one playable character, much like Rockstar’s Grand Theft Auto V.
“Developed by the creators of Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption, Red Dead Redemption 2 is an epic tale of life in America’s unforgiving heartland,” Rockstar says. “The game’s vast and atmospheric world will also provide the foundation for a brand new online multiplayer experience.”
“Red Dead Redemption 2 will release worldwide in Fall 2017 on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One systems,” Rockstar adds. A PC release is yet to be confirmed though, hopefully, unlike the first game, that will be forthcoming. Fingers crossed.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now available for pre-order, priced £54.99 on the Rockstar Warehouse website.
