There is no doubt that Red Dead Redemption was one of the best games of the previous console generation, but despite a lot of people wanting it, it never made it to the PC. A little band-aid for the current generation console user was brought by the backwards compatibility on Xbox One, but still, that still left all the PC players in the dark and without much hope to play this game on their preferred platform.
While there have been rumours of a PC version for almost as long as the game is old, about a year ago most hopes of this was nullified by Red Dead Redemption’s lead multiplayer designer, Kris Roberts, who said that he didn’t think a PC version ever was considered during a Twitch stream.
That is all history, but history is one thing, the future is another. There have also been rumours of a Red Dead Redemption 2, but that again is yet another story. Today a new rumour rose on a Korean game page that sparks new hope for PC players to play this acclaimed open world game. According to their sources, a remastered version of this game is in the works and best of all, it will not only be for the current generation consoles but also for the PC.
I for one really hope and wish that this rumour is true, but as it always is with rumours, we need to take them with a grain of salt. Anyways, it doesn’t seem like we have to wait long to find out whether this is true or not as it’s being said that the official announcement only is two days away. The remastered game itself is then said to launch in the first half of 2017. Rockstar Games haven’t commented on these rumours, but we don’t expect them to do so either. They’re generally a company that doesn’t say much other then what they want to say and rarely what we would like to know. You might remember how long it took them to even admit that GTA V would be released as a PC version.
