The game Red Orchestra 2: Heroes of Stalingrad (often abbreviated as RO2:HoS) has finished its first week of beta testing which started on Monday this week. A successful week saw tens of thousands of people get online to play the beta version of the new game. With the help of the beta testers the developing team at Tripwire Interactive were able to fix bugs such as a severe bug which stopped the server browser from working properly.
The initial beta had three maps (Fallen Fighters, Apartments and Gumrak) and as of today three new maps will be added to the game. Anyone that pre ordered the deluxe version of the game as of today can join in the beta action, to do this simply head over to steam with your keycode to get yourself in on the action. If you only bought the standard version then you have to upgrade to get access to the beta or simply wait for the game to be officially released on September the 13th.
The new maps are:
Grain Elevator: The iconic battle site in the south of Stalingrad featuring long range infantry fighting outdoors and room to room close quarters combat inside.
Red October Factory: Night-time fighting in the factory ruins on an epic scale with infantry and tanks fighting side by side.
Barracks: A mix of close-quarter and medium-range combat, sure to be a fan favorite.
