The Reeven Kelveros (RC-1202) CPU cooler sports a really unique shape from the top. Considering most systems mount with the top of the CPU cooler facing the side panel, this is what you would see if you had a side panel window. We think it looks very attractive indeed, slightly batman-like.
The side of the Reeven Kelveros is dominated by the ColdWing PWM fan which Reeven use on all their CPU coolers. It features Reeven’s trademark bright yellow colour scheme so it is instantly recognisable.
The Kelveros isn’t as thick as some other CPU coolers we have seen, but with the fan fitted it does block the first DIMM slot. If you have more than 2 DIMMs you could run into some issues with clearance – especially with high profile RAM like Corsair Vengeance (non-LP) and G.Skill Trident X.
The rear side has a strange shape due to the overall design of the product. Since Reeven include no extra fan clips and mention nothing of adding more fans, we think it would be safe to assume you probably can’t mount an extra 120mm fan to this side for push-pull.
From the bottom of the Kelveros we can see more closely that Hybrid heat pipe design. The thicker pipes are the 8mm ones and the thinner ones are 6mm. The direct heat pipe touch surface is not entirely flat – it is possible you could get thermal paste build up in the gaps which could result in poor temperatures (compared to a smooth base design).
The included fan switch is plain and simple. Low caps the maximum fan speed at 1300RPM and high at 1900RPM. The cable is a little short and would have to mount in the first or second PCI bracket slots on your case. This is the only part of the Kelveros where I think the build quality has slipped a little, the fan controller doesn’t feel that sturdy and the wiring looks fragile.
