The Apple Vision Pro was a resounding failure with nobody buying it due to there being nothing new to do with it that other headsets haven’t already done, you look like a dunce wearing it in public and because it cost $3,499 without extras.
In light of the Apple Vision Pro’s sales performance, reports suggest that Apple has shifted its focus away from developing the Apple Vision Pro 2. Instead, they are reportedly prioritizing a more affordable model with fewer cameras, a simplified headband, and smaller speakers.
I still personally don’t think that many people will buy this mainly because of the reasons listed before but who knows this could be a smash hit and the problem before was mainly the price. This cheaper version has reportedly been in the works since 2022 and has been going under the codename “N109”.
The rumoured price point of $1,600 for the N109, while significantly undercutting the Apple Vision Pro, still positions it in the realm of high-end iPhones or several Meta Quest 3 headsets. This might be a tough sell for many consumers, considering the price relative to the perceived value and alternative options available.
