The rumour mill is already in full swing when it comes to the next iPhone, and even though we’ve only had the iPhone 7 Plus for a while, it’s expected the next iteration will launch in around 9 months, so it’s safe to assume that someone somewhere is building the first prototypes. Current rumours suggest that the phone will undergo significant changes, and while nothing is confirmed for obvious reasons, there’s often no smoke without fire.
The iPhone is hardly known for being affordable, but it sounds like the next model could be the most expensive yet, but as WCCF reported, sources imply that the current handset pricing could be maintained, while the iPhone 8 will see around $200 more added to the top of their current flagship price…. ouch!
Perhaps Apple is looking to increase the quality of the phone by a huge margin in terms of material choices to give them that premium crown for a while longer. With brands like Google now offering some fierce competition, it’ll be interesting to see just how far Apple thinks it can push the budgets of even their most loyal customers, given that they already have the most expensive stock handsets on the market.
With Apple already pushing up the prices for their MacBook by quite a significant margin, this rumour doesn’t sound unrealistic either, and we’re eager to see how Apple will play this, if at all.
