Reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days Trailer Released

Big Star Games have just released a new trailer fo their upcoming Tarantino-inspired game, reservoir Dogs: Bloody Days! While that’s a headline that would normally grab my attention, I can’t say I’m thrilled with the reality of the trailer, it looks sub-par, to be honest.

The gameplay is a top down shooter and looks pretty much like a Hotline Miami clone; although there are many games like that. However, you don’t have to dig far through any of the YouTube comments to see people aren’t happy with what the game is offering.

The film is a cult classic, and the IP alone is surely worth a more prestigious release?

That’s not to say the game looks bad, I do like a good top-down shooter, but the use of the IP for Reservoir Dogs is a bit tacked on. There’s plenty of cartoon violence, over the top gore, and gunplay; like you would expect from Tarantino.

The game uses a nice mixture of turn-based gameplay, with a twist of real-time gameplay. You take control of a character for a few seconds, then rewind time to move another; this unique twist means you can play solo co-op!

Drawing back to the use of the movie, the game doesn’t even feature the original cast of the movie. There’s no Steve Buscemi here unfortunately, but it does use the character names.

CEO of Big Star Games Liam Patton said: “as huge fans of Reservoir Dogs, we’re very focused on creating a highly addictive experience that stays true to the tense, dramatic vibe of this unforgettable movie.”

Release Date?

The game is due for release on the 18th of May and will be available on Steam.

“Don’t try again, rewind. Control characters for overlapping bursts of time, in a single-player co-op mode and discover endless possibilities. Take advantage of this highly addictive and strategic mechanic in tension-filled robberies and shootouts.” – Big Star Games
