Resident Evil 7 Patch Fixes Save Game Bug and HDR

Have you been enjoying the rather fantastic and brutal Resident Evil 7 this week? Hopefully, you’ve not had too much trouble with bugs since launch, but as with any major launch, there are a few that needed addressing. The first patch is here, and it does aim to fix and improve issues where the games progress what not properly being saved, or was even becoming impossible to be saved. The next issue is a fix for the HDR mode, which was being turned on automatically even after users had disabled it, which is obviously pretty annoying.

He’s hoping we will see another patch soon that will address a few of the performance issues for the game, although we expect fixes like that generally take a little longer to create.

This update will auto-update from Steam, and you can check out the changelog below.

Resident Evil 7- Patch #1 Changelog:

  • Fixed an issue where saving game progress was no longer possible if the player deleted the local save file while Steam Cloud has been turned off.
  • Fixed an issue where HDR mode is turned back to ON upon app launch if the player quits the prior game session in full screen mode and with HDR set to OFF.
