Retailer Confirms Upcoming Intel Alder Lake-S Prices!

Intel isn’t expected to officially confirm the launch of their new entry/mid-tier Alder Lake-S processors until January 4th (as part of their CES 2022 showcase). Despite that fact, however, information and leaks surrounding them have recently started to appear thick and fast. For example, only yesterday we saw that the i5-12400F was (apparently) available to buy in Peru! – Following a report via Videocardz, however, it seems that despite them not even yet having been officially confirmed, US-based retailer BestBuy may have just revealed the prices we can expect for the entire new range of Alder Lake-S CPUs.

Intel Alder Lake-S Price Leaks!

Not, admittedly, it’s entirely possible that the prices listed here are placeholders, and, as such, should be taken with a grain of salt pending their official MSRP from Intel. – Given that the prices are, roughly speaking, about what we would expect, however, it does appear that this early door’s appearance might be entirely accurate.

  • Core i9-12900 – $529.99
  • Core i9-12900F – $509.99
  • Core i7-12700 – $359.99
  • Core i7-12700F – $329.99
  • Core i5-12600 – $239.99
  • Core i5-12500 – $219.99
  • Core i5-12400 – $209.99
  • Core i5-12400F – $179.99
  • Core i3-12100 – $139.99
  • Core i3-12100F – $109.99
  • Pentium G7400 – $79.99
  • Pentium G6900 – $59.99

What Do We Think?

If these prices are proven correct, and although clearly pending some official benchmarks, then there does seem to be some potentially excellent value for money within both the i5-12400 and i5-12600. Particularly since prior rumours have already suggested that these CPUs should easily have the beating of the AMD Ryzen 5600X while, comparatively speaking, representing either the same or less money!

With CES 2022 literally just over a week away, however, we don’t have long now before we find out for certain just how reliable this leak is!
