Gamer Network is thrilled to announce the Leftfield Collection line-up for this year’s Rezzed, a place where visitors can discover and play the best new independent games right at the heart of the show. This year’s Rezzed takes place at The NEC, Birmingham, on Saturday 22nd and Sunday 23rd June and will feature the most anticipated PC and indie games of 2013. Tickets are on sale now at www.rezzed.com, priced £12 for one day or £20 for both.
16 independent PC titles have been chosen to exhibit in The Leftfield Collection, including the haunting adventure game Gone Home, manic cartoon deathmatch title Gun Monkeys, and a mixture of puzzling, twitchy, musical and colourful games dealing with themes as light and addictive as jetpack speed-running and as heavy and thought-provoking as terminal illness and memory loss.
Rezzed is primarily a PC event, but the organisers – including the editorial team behind Gamer Network’s Eurogamer.net – feel that the show should capture the independent spirit of games wherever it can be found, so this year will also feature a range of upcoming games for mobile and tablet.
The full list of Leftfield Collection PC titles is as follows:
This year’s inaugural selection of mobile and tablet titles follows:
“The Leftfield Collection is an opportunity for talented indie developers to exhibit their games at a huge public game show in a way that is usually reserved for big-name developers and publishers,” said David Hayward, curator of the Leftfield Collection. “The selection of games we have for visitors to play reflects the incredible depth and range of imagination at work in indie game development. The selection process was a real pleasure.”
Elsewhere at Rezzed, attendees will be able to go hands-on with Total War: ROME II, Company of Heroes 2 and a wide range of big PC titles, with many still to be announced.
Rezzed will also host a full schedule of Developer Sessions, where leading studios and independent developers reveal new details on their games in development and the way they are building them. Developers announced so far include Introversion Software (Prison Architect), Obsidian Entertainment (Project Eternity) and Creative Assembly (ROME II), with several more still to be revealed in the run-up to the show.
