Riot’s Co-Founders Will Focus on a Completely New Game

Riot will finally make a new game.
If you know anything about Riot Games, is that they have created one of the most renowned MOBA titles. League of Legends is still going strong 11 years after its original release. However, the company has not been focusing on other major titles in the meanwhile. Now, Brandon “Ryze” Beck and Marc “Tryndamere” Merrill, who created Riot back in 2006, have decided to give up the reins in order to create a new project from scratch. During a recent joint statement, the two said that they finally want to put the “s” in Riot Games. We can’t wait to see the result of their work.
Who’s going to run the company now?
Apparently, company operations will be given to Riot CFO Dylan Jadeja. He will be joined by Scott Gelb (CTO), and Nicolo Laurent (President), meaning that Ryze and Tryndamere will remain free to work on other titles. Riot has produced some small games and a tabletop since its founding days, but no other AAA games other than League. Giving up leadership was probably necessary. Just think about it: LOL has 100 million players across the world. Managing that kind of game takes up a lot of time and effort.
As soon as we find out anything about this next title, we’ll let you know all about it. What kind of game do you think it’s going to be?
