Rise of Incarnates is Shutting Down Only Months After Launch

Rise of Incarnates is a free-to-play brawler on PC and published by Bandai Namco. The game originally launched on July 1st and could be accessed via the Early Access programme since February. Initially, the game showed some promise as it was developed by experienced individuals who had previously worked on Soul Calibur and Tekken. Unfortunately, the published announced the game’s closure and said:
“We must regretfully inform all users of the closure of Rise of Incarnates,”
“We offer our sincere thanks to everyone who has supported this game.
“We will be keeping the servers open until December 15, 2015, so please continue to enjoy Rise of Incarnates until the very end.”
The fighting game will be removed from Steam today, so now is your last chance to try it out! It’s such a shame for a new IP to fail only months after launch, but the reviews are quite mixed. Additionally, it’s difficult for smaller games to be recognized on Steam due to the shear amount of titles released every day. Honestly, I’ve never heard of this particular game before, and I’m guessing that applies to a large amount of Steam users. Perhaps, the media coverage surrounding the game’s imminent closure could provide some much-needed publicity. Although, Bandai Namco appears to have accepted its fate.
