ROCCAT Games Studio Releases Sick City Trailer for Gamescom

Peripheral company Roccat introduced their first project under the Roccat Games Studio banner three months ago called Sick City. It is a fresh take on real-time tactical combat set in a post-apocalyptic world. Squads of 4v4 fight on the city streets, featuring distinct art and unique characters. Its combat is set at a fast pace, drawing inspiration from classic games such as ‘Commandoes’ and ‘Company of Heroes’. However, Roccat made sure to eliminate time-consuming elements which contributes to the slowing down of the action.

Roccat at Gamescom 2017

Gamers attending Gamescom 2017 will be able to try out the new game in person. Roccat is going to be in Hall 8 – C.032, with systems available to the public to play Sick City in. Understandably, not everyone can attend the event in Germany. That is why Roccat also uploaded their first gameplay trailer made for Gamescom. The trailer shows for the first time how the maps look and how the characters look in-game.  The gameplay trailer also includes a slice of an actual PvP match, showing menus and combat system in action.

The game is currently in non-open alpha phase. Roccat is in fact asking players for feedback regarding all aspects of the game so they can tweak it to perfection. The company is pledging that they are listening to fans as closely as possible and open to incorporate many of the alpha-participants’ ideas. So far it appears that Roccat is happy with the feedback they are receiving and hoping that the public demo at Gamescom will garner more interest.

More Games to Come

The company also introduced their second title two weeks ago called ‘Elevator to the moon’. The title is an immersive VR puzzle-based adventure game about an engineer forced to build a moon elevator. It is actually coming out sooner than Sick City as it is ready to hit Oculus VR and Samsung Gear VR in October 2017. You can watch the video teaser below:
