Roccat Juke Virtual 7.1 Surround Sound Review

Introduction

There are many ways to take control of your desktop audio, with many new motherboards hosting a range of cool features to enhance your audio performance, desktop amplifiers, and many USB headsets now feature their own built-in sound card for improved audio performance. The one thing a lot of these features have in common, however, is that they can often be quite expensive or at least carry a premium. Roccat looks set to address this with the release of the Roccat Juke, a simple look USB to dual 3.5mm adaptor that will help you add a new level of immersion to your multimedia.

“The ROCCAT® Juke Virtual 7.1 + USB Stereo Soundcard & Headset Adapter; the gaming-grade sound card that brings your stereo headset to the next level. Delivering premium quality virtual 7.1 surround sound, the Juke takes the form of a USB sound card compatible with a wide range of stereo gaming headset on the market.” – Roccat

While there are many software solutions out there, the built-in hardware of the Juke should potentially surpass that kind of processing thanks to its on-board hardware and it provides you with a way of hooking up a 3.5mm microphone and headset to a USB port, which could come in handy for those who need more connectivity options.

“The Juke’s feature-laden software suite enhances the sound card’s performance and lets you align each 7.1 surround sound speaker individually, for audiophiles who are serious about customization. With a low memory footprint, the driver software allows extensive refinements, so you can tweak your sound and set up your equalizer exactly to your specifications.” – Roccat
