Roccat KAIN 200 AIMO Gaming Mouse Review

How Much Does it Cost?
The Roccat Kain 200 AIMO Gaming Mouse is available right now from most major retailers. It’s currently on Amazon UK for £89.99 and Amazon US for $99.99 (on sale for just $79.99 at the time of writing). Sure, that’s not what I would call a bargain, but it’s a very well made gaming mouse, with premium components, wired and wireless modes, etc. So, while not cheap, I would say you’re getting what you pay for here.
The Roccat Sense AIMO mouse mat is just £37.60 in the UK and $39.99 in the US (current sale price is $31.99 at time of writing).
Overview
When I reviewed the Roccat Kain 120 AIMO a few months back, I had nothing but praise for it. I even said “It’s really one of the best all-around products I’ve tested here at eTeknix” and I still stand by that statement. If anything the Kain 200 AIMO is just that little bit better. Sure, it costs more money, but it now features a removable cable, wireless functionality, a built-in battery, etc.
Of course, there’s a flip side of this and that is if you love this mouse at £90, then you’ll freaking love the Kain 120 AIMO at £60. It’s the same mouse, it’s just hard-wired, and not everyone needs or wants a wireless mouse. Either way, it seems Roccat has a Kain AIMO for everybody and I hope to see them expand the range even further as we approach 2020.
Premium Everything
Roccat spared no expense when they raided the parts bin for this mouse. They’ve equipped it with their flagship 16k Owl-Eye optical sensor, their new Titan Click Technology, the new Titan Wheel and it’s all housed in a fantastic quality outer body. It’s the little details, such as the durable and comfortable panel coating, the brushed metal strip detailing, etc. It all goes a long way to justify spending a little more on this vs some of the more affordable options on the market today.
Should I Buy One?
There’s no shortage of amazing gaming mice out there right now. Even when it comes to wireless, Roccat has strong competition from Razer, Logitech and Corsair who all have innovations of their own right now. However, it comes down to personal taste. I think this is one of the best looking and most comfortable mice on the market, so it certainly gets my seal of approval.
