Final Thoughts

How Much Does it Cost?

The Roccat Kone AIMO Gaming Mouse is available now at most major retailers. Right now, it’s £96.95 in black or grey. However, the super sexy white version is £2 cheaper, and a bit of a bargain overall. What’s cool is that you can order is with the new Owl Eye Optical sensor, or you can get the older Laser Sensor. Personally, I think you would need a hard bump on the head to want the laser version, as the Owl Eye is as good as sensors get.

Overview

Roccat stepped up to impress with their new gaming mouse, and honestly, I’m blown away yet again by what they have to offer. The Kone AIMO isn’t exactly reinventing the mouse here, but it’s a clear evolution of an almost 11-year-old design that has gotten better with every iteration.

Sensor

The Owl Eye sensor is amazing, with pixel-perfect tracking and very responsive and no jitter tracking. When it comes to competitive gaming, it’ll go head to head with anything else on the market. It’s noticeably smoother and more accurate than their old, albeit still pretty darn good, laser sensor model. Even better, the price of both models is about the same, so optical all the way baby!

Customisation

With full button customisation, one of the best macro engines around, and the ability to “shift” to the second set of buttons with your Roccat keyboard or any mouse button; you really couldn’t be more in control. The switches are tight and responsive, and the layout is well suited for any grip type too.

RGB, I mean, AIMO!

The AIMO lighting is up there with the best lighting engines on the market. Roccat is pretty proud of this tech, and its ability to react to on-screen action and games makes it feel more alive than your usual fading rainbow effects. The colours are fantastic too, really bright and vibrant to light up your battle station.

Should I Buy One?

The price is pretty good on this mouse, and while £70 isn’t exactly loose change, this is a premium quality product. The build quality is up there with the best and feels more robust over last years model too. It looks gorgeous, and its performance is even better. You might find mice that are as good for the same price, but you won’t find better.
