For the purpose of the tests I set the software back to default and installed all four of the 5g weights, this is more down to my personal preference  I prefer a heavier mouse as I find it give me more control. This is of course the joy of having a customisable mouse.

I’m a big fan of FPS titles on the PC, you can’t beat a really good multiplayer game on titles like Battlefield 3 and Borderlands 2. After a few games on both, initial impressions of the Kone XTD were impressive to say the least. The range of the DPI is simply stunning and easy to manipulate mid game, perfect for keeping a steady aim on a sniper rifle in Battlefield or being able to spin around quickly in Borderlands 2. The button placement is great too and having the shift key and macros gave plenty of opportunity to streamline my playing style.

I jumped into a little World of Warcraft for my next text, it’s not a game I visit often but it seemed a fitting environment for the Kone XTD. Performance was again superb and while I know most MMORPG players would love a million buttons on their mouse, the shift and macro functions go a long was to satisfying this demand.

Day to day use has been a pleasure with this mouse, I’ve been using it for two full days now for gaming, writing my reviews and massive amounts of web browsing when I should have been working. The Teflon slip mats do a fantastic job on multiple surfaces but in my opinion it seemed better at home on the Zowie G-TF surface. I’m generally at the PC for around 15 hours of the day and the Kone XTD hasn’t missed a beat in the 30+ hours I’ve used it so far.
