Roccat Kone XTD Gaming Mouse Review
Overall an impressive performance from the Kone XTD, Roccat have taken their already popular range of mice and sparked new life into them with the Kone XTD. It’s features and functionality are top notch and go a long way to justify the premium price tag.
It’s overall style is of course subjective, but I think it looks fantastic. The ergonomics and style blend together really well making it both a good looking and comfortable to use product. This is further helped by the very slick LED lighting system and being able to customise it is something I know will go down well with many enthusiasts, it only took me a few moments to colour match it to the lighting within my PCs chassis and my keyboards LED lighting.
It’s performance was impressive throughout all my tests and general day to day use, but most of all having the shift key functionality and the multiple profiles in the software is what made it for me. having a profile for my gaming, multimedia and photo / text editing tasks is really helpful and I’m sure many people will really appreciate these features. It’s also nice to use a mouse that performs equally well across multiple surfaces types, which is good news for those who love to swap mouse pads constantly.
So there we have it, another great performance from Roccat and it’s clear that the Kone XTD is going to prove popular with both FPS, MMO and RTS gamers alike, not forgetting people who just want a slick looking and performing mouse for flicking through Reddit when they should be working.
The Kone XTD is more than worth of our Gamers Choice Award, but it’s its flawless around performance that earns it our top honours with the eTeknix Editors Choice Award.
ROCCAT do indeed make the best mice in the world. A little more pricey than other brands but not ridiculously so. Deserves top honours. I’ve been using the Kone [+] for more than 2 years now & I love it even though it’s ever so slightly big for my hand. I’m looking forward to getting my mitts on the Pure.
Well put it this way… the Kone XTD is still being used since the review and I can’t see me giving it up any time soon 😀
it’s not that good looking 😛
Style is such a subjective quality, to my eyes it’s a stunner 😀
could you do a review on the roccat kone pure? hesitant which one to buy until i see a good review on both 🙂
Me too.
I’ve just finished testing the Pure. Needless to say my supplier is never going to see it again. It’s that good. The smaller profile suits my smaller hands perfectly. Once I’ve finished testing the XTD it too will probably end up in my collection.
