The Roccat Lua Tri-Button 2000DPI Optical Gaming Mouse has been on the market for a while now, so you’ll easily find it at many major retailers. We found one at Box.co.uk for a very reasonable £24.99, which is fantastic value for money and should make this a tempting option for a lot of gamers looking for a simple design and durable quality.
Overview
I really like this mouse, it’s simple, it’s stylish and it’s affordable, which certainly makes it an attractive option for a lot of gamers. Of course, it is quite limiting for a lot of uses given its tri-button design, but for a bit of day-to-day web browsing, playing focused competitive games and even using it as an affordable second mouse for a notebook due to its lightweight design, it certainly has a market.
The build quality is pretty solid overall, although I would have expected much less from Roccat. The same can be said for the overall design, as it keeps many of the ergonomics and style ideas from the rest of the Roccat range, despite the Lua’s more budget friendly approach.
The downloadable software has always been one of the better aspects for Roccat products and the Lua is no exception. The Lua may not have a lot of features, but with the software you can dial in up to 7 DPI speed settings, customise the button layout and more, giving you all the options you need to dial the performance you really need.
Pros

- Ambidextrous design
- Lightweight
- Competitive price
- Good sensor performance
Cons
- None
Neutral
- Tri button design isn’t really for everyone, but at least Roccat make many 5+ button mice should you need them
