Roccat has long been one of my favourite peripherals brands, delivering some of the best gaming mice I’ve ever used, some really unique and well-made keyboards, and some cool sounding headsets too. However, their recent launches have been on another level, both for their flagship models and their more affordable models. I recently reviewed their Kone Pro Gaming Mouse, the Burst Pro Lightweight Mouse, and their Vulcan TKL Pro Optical Keyboard, and they were all great! However, today is all about the rather unique Roccat MAGMA AIMO RGB, which has a different take on RGB from what we usually see!
This isn’t a mega-expensive flagship keyboard, but rather Roccat showing that a more accessible and affordable gaming keyboard can still be one of their coolest! Rather than expensive pre-key RGB lighting, it uses a 10-LED RGBA backlighting, which is split into five zones. Rather than light up the keys, it lights up the keyboard chassis thanks to a semi-transparent top plate. You get a full membrane key setup, so the keys are light, fast and quiet, but you still get Anti-ghosting, AIMO lighting engine, a detachable palm rest, and Easy-Shift[+].
“The ROCCAT® Magma Membrane RGB Gaming Keyboard is ideal for RGBA enthusiasts seeking a competitive gaming keyboard. Its top plate is fully illuminated in 16.8m colours and AIMO compatible, making it ready for stunning lighting showcases. Its high quality, silent membrane keys are complemented by ROCCAT Easy-Shift[+] technology for a double up on your command power. A detachable palm rest and low maintenance design round out a keyboard that delivers gaming performance for an affordable price.” – Roccat
