The keyboard is fully RGB lit, which means you can tweak the colours to your liking.
There’s no backlighting between the keys, just the key caps, but it cuts through nice and clear.
What we really want to see, aside from the performance of the keyboard, is how well that mobile dock works. As you can see, our Nvidia Shield Tablet fits with ease, but we tested an iPad Air and Sony Xperia Z3 and they all fit snug in both horizontal and vertical orientations. Here you can see we’ve installed the Swarm app (on mobile and desktop) and it allows us to view real-time stats on our system performance!
The home screen can be customised, but by default it allows a few basic stats, as well as multimedia controls.
Hit the Bluetooth pair button and ta da! The keyboard is now instantly usable for the mobile device. This is great for responding to text messages or Facebook messages quickly. Simply hit the button and it switches back to controlling your desktop, allowing you to respond to messages without having to quit out of your game.
Overall, the setup looks pretty great and the keyboard certainly looks stylish.
Aside from the mobile features, the Skeltr still has a lot more to offer. We love that it can pass through the audio from a mobile device, then pass that back through with your headset and microphone, while also plug into the keyboard. This means you can play music on your phone, or take calls, and have it all mix in with your audio for work and gaming on the PC!
The keyboard is no slouch either, as the keys are super snappy and light, making them effortless for fast paced gameplay, or just a lot of typing of those long work products; such as this very review.
The programmable keys are handy too, with macro keys on the left side that can be used as for anything you can think of thanks to a powerful macro recording engine. Then you also have that cool Thumbster keys below the space bar for more of the same.
