Final Thoughts

Price

The Roccat Suora FX doesn’t come cheap, clocking in at £119.99, that’s a lot of money for most gamers, but it still comes in a bit cheaper than some of the high-end offerings from Razer, Corsair and Logitech, but doesn’t offer much more in terms of features than quite a few sub £100 models either. You do get great build quality, a trusted brand name, and a more refined product for your money, however, so it’s not all doom and gloom.

Overview

If you’re looking to splash a little over £100 on a gaming keyboard, you’re hardly short on choice these days, and Roccat has worked hard to make sure the Suora FX ticks all the right boxes for the enthusiast PC gamer. It’s got a full complement of mechanical switches, which are phenomenal to use for both work and gaming alike. The addition of RGB lighting is pretty predictable, Roccat are not looking to innovate here at all, but the lighting engine is pretty fantastic and the per-key effects are sure to put a smile on the face of anyone who loves all the extra customisation.

Again, there’s no huge innovation here, but what we do have is done very well. The build quality is sublime throughout, with a durable chassis and slim bezel that not only looks great, but also takes up less desktop space that most keyboards and is also easier to store and transport. A detachable cable should have been on here from day one, but it’s hardly a deal breaker.

The key caps are very nice quality and the keyboard is very responsive. The rubber grips and low height of the keyboard make it easy to use and it feels very stable, even when you’re mashing at the keys, so frantic gameplay isn’t an issue for the Suora FX. The addition of on-board memory, macro functions, gaming mode, etc, all make it very tournament friendly too.

Yes it’s a little expensive, but it has gaming pedigree and Roccat have yet to disappoint when it comes to quality and performance. The Suora FX is easily one of their best gaming keyboards to date and it’s certainly one of their best looking despite being a fairly standard design overall.

Pros

  • Durable build quality
  • Slim chassis and bezel design
  • Per-key RGB lighting
  • Gaming mode
  • Macro functions
  • Multimedia controls
  • Trusted brand name

Cons

  • No detachable USB cable

Neutral

  • Some may be put off by none Cherry MX switches, but there’s really no need to be, they’re great
  • Price is quite a leap from the none FX model
