Roccat are one of the leading gaming peripherals brands who have brought us feature packed products such as Isku keyboard, the Kone[+] mouse and the Kave 5.1 surround sound headset. They continue to deliver quality, affordable gaming gear that not only looks great, but is also innovative – anyone seen or heard of Roccat Grid – where your smart phone becomes an extension to your keyboard? Today, Roccat have supplied us with some products from an often overlooked area of the peripheral market, and they are the Taito Mouse Pads.
At eTeknix we’ve seen dozens of mouse pads, all with varying patterns or designs, but at the end of the day there are only a few factors that need to be considered when selecting the right mouse pad, these are surface type (hard or soft), size, material (if soft) and thickness. The size is an obvious point to consider, as what is the point of having a decent mouse pad if it won’t fit on your desk? The surface type is also a important factor to consider as soft surfaces tend to me more comfortable, but hard surfaces have a smoother surface and are less prone to liquid damage.
Roccat has sent us three mouse pads, one of each size; mini, mid and king, with the mid being 5mm thick and the others 3mm in thickness. So without further hesitation, lets take a look.
