How Much Does it Cost?

The Roccat Tyon White is available now from Amazon for just £78.87. Slightly down from the listed Amazon price of £79.99, not a huge saving, but pretty good value for money given the features on offer. It’s also available with the fantastic Isku FX white keyboard for just £139.23 for the pair. This puts it in a similar price bracket to the Corsair Scimitar and Razer Naga series.

Overview

As I said, I’ve been a big fan of the Tyon for a long time now. Having reviewed and tested a couple of hundred gaming mice over the years, it’s the one that has stayed firmly on my desk for my work for quite a long time now. The new white one will likely replace my black one now too, despite performing the same, it just looks so much better in my opinion. If you want the black one though, you’re getting the same features and performance, so the choice is yours.

Changes

The aesthetics are about the only thing tweaked here, and that’s no bad thing, as having the choice is great for consumers. However, I’d love to see Roccat kick it up a notch in the future. We know they have their new wireless model, but I haven’t tested that. Perhaps an optical sensor version and a wired one with detachable cables would be enough, and RGB lighting tech is always improving, so who knows what they can expand on there too. Roccat, keep making better Tyon products, as I’d be lost without them.

Performance

From MMO gaming with a huge range of macros at your fingertips to focused FPS gaming, the Tyon is a jack of all trades. Settings up the mouse can be a little time consuming, but it’s not too intimidating either. If you take the time to tinker with the software, set up a few profiles for work and gaming, you’ll wonder how you did without the added buttons. The thumb button and the analogue control, in particular, are game changes. It takes time to remember they’re there, learn their uses, but when you do, you’ll never look back.

Should I Buy One?

A lot of gaming mice are built to focus on one thing. The Tyon is built to focus on everything. If you’re an eSports champ, a more focused mouse is likely best for you. However, if you’re like me and use your mouse for multiple game types, as well as your work, the Tyon literally ticks all of the boxes. At just under £80, it’s not cheap, but it’s a good price given the level of features on offer.
