A Closer Look

The Roccat Volcan TKL Pro gives a fantastic first impression. Right out of the box, it’s about one of the best looking keyboards I’ve ever seen. Ultra sleek body, brushed aluminium top panel, ultra-slim bezels. It looks slim and light, but it feels tough and weighted.

You can’t help but notice those pudding caps either. They’re designed for a low profile feel and are mounted with a stabiliser so there’s virtually no wobble from them.

The keyboard profile is fairly flat, but the caps themselves are slightly curved.

Of course, having the caps on top of the switch rather than surround it means that the LED lighting is going to really shine. If you’re an RGB nut, you’re going to get your kicks here.

The keyboard has software to customise things, but there are some built-in features too for easy access. There’s some basic multimedia controls here.

An FN-Shift lock, Windows Lock, game mode, etc here.

However, I think the best thing is this little wheel. Perfect for controlling any number of things, but of course by default, it’ll let you adjust the volume.

You can also cycle the RGB lighting effects and their overall brightness from the arrow keys. In fact, many of you may never need the software, there’s plenty on-board!

Branding is pretty minimal, with just a simple and stylish logo on the right side.

There are Roccat logos on the switches, and side note, those switches do look pretty awesome. They’re “red” which is a hint that they’re linear, much like another big brands well known red switches.

On he underside, you’ll find five massive rubber grips. I’d say there’s more grip here than needed, but honestly, if you have a slippy desk and you type like an ape, you’ll be glad it does.

There are secondary grips on the extra-wide feet too, so you don’t loose traction while they’re deployed.

The included USB cable is a black braided USB C to USB A cable. It’s a nice cable, but since it’s removable, you could easily use your own cable if you break or loose this one.
