My relationship with Rocket League is very similar to Fifa. When I’m winning, I love it. It’s a fantastically well-made game that is fun and entertaining for all. When I’m losing, it’s a broken piece of garbage that has been designed from the ground up to specifically screw me over at every available opportunity.
Largely though, I enjoy it immensely. Incidentally, I was my birthday a couple weeks ago and because I have an awesome wife who understands my priorities in life, I received a Nintendo Switch. This, by the way, is also awesome. Trust me, there is a very good reason why the Switch has massively out-sold the PS4 and Xbox One in recent months. It’s an excellent console.
Nintendo has, for better or worse, always generally held the mantle of being the ‘fun’ console. As such Rocket League is a totally logical product for the system and as such, it should come as no surprise that Rocket League is due for release on the system as early next month.
We have known for a while that this title was in development. The developers were, however, a little careful to not commit to a date. After much waiting, we finally though, have our release date.
Rocket League will officially release on the Nintendo Switch November 14th. This, according to an official Rocket League blog post.
Now, aside from it being an excellent game for an excellent system and also being released much sooner than thought, there is a clear logical reason for the release. Christmas is coming and wouldn’t this title be an awesome stocking filler? Of course, we don’t have a price yet, but it’s not likely to be any more than £25. Perfect territory for that little extra for the niece, nephew or kids.
