It might sound a bit like an April Fools joke considering the date but it is real; Rocket League is getting a ‘The Fate of the Furious’ DLC in Early April which ties in with the upcoming movie from the Fast and Furious franchise. Gamers will be able to see Dominic Toretto’s “Ice Charger” as a premium Battle-car in-game and the package will also provide exclusive wheels and unique decals (Clean Cut, Crazy Sandwich Flames, Rakugaki, Rally and CCXL).
This is not the first time developer Psyonix has teamed up with Hollywood to integrate a promotion with a movie as they have licensed DLCs from Batman and Back to the Future before. The Ice Charger is a heavily modified vintage car which can actually be seen in the trailer as the Fast and Furious gang drive around in Arctic conditions. It appears to be the craziest looking custom car to appear in the series yet:
The Rocket League: Fate of the Furious DLC will be available on Steam starting April 4 and will cost $1.99 to add. As for the movie itself, The Fate of the Furious will hit theaters on April 14 and will be the eighth movie from the Fast and Furious franchise.
