Fans who purchased or were gifted the remastered edition of Rocksmith 2014 for the PC were in for a rude awakening when they opened the box only to realise that there were zero activation CD keys present in the package. The Rocksmith 2014 remastered edition seeks to give users the chance to relive the experience of the original with songs from Nirvana, Oasis, Radiohead, The Rolling Stones and More. The new edition also adds bonus songs from Bob Marley and the Wailers, Elvis Presley, Jackson 5, Train, Outkast and Fun. Users also get the chance to relive the same frustration of not having a CD key bundled with the game like the original release since this is exactly what happened when the last Rocksmith game came out as well, chronicled on reddit and Ubisoft’s forums.
The majority of reviews currently on Amazon.com for the Rocksmith 2014 remastered game has 37% 1-star review having the same refrain of not having a CD key for Steam or Uplay. User Shane Blume has posted a video on his YouTube channel showing that even a second replacement Rocksmith game package from Amazon lacks the CD key as well:

Users are even more incensed since complaining to Ubisoft’s tech support did not help for they were asked to take up the problem with Amazon instead while Amazon says it is Ubisoft’s fault since the packages arrive their warehouse sealed and ship sealed. Here’s a selection of some of the Amazon.com complaints:
