Role-Playing Battle Royale Game Egress Receives a Debut Trailer

Another day, another Battle Royale game.

Just a few days ago, we told you that the developers of STALKER are working on a brand new battle royale-style game. Well, it appears that another company, albeit not as well known, is also creating its own game following the same combat rules. The game in question is Egress, and it represents the hard work of Fazan Games. What will make this particular title stand out among its peers is an intense hardcore souls-like combat system. Another interesting aspect is the game’s setting. The alternate universe in question will borrow elements from the Victorian era, Lovecraft’s mythology and Retrowave. The map will feature a multi-layered city, which sounds just about right for this type of game.

What about the gameplay?

During a regular gaming session, players will be able to explore tunnels, streets, and houses. They will also be able to play solo or as part of a team. The combat system that we mentioned before relies on melee attacks and dodges, as well as various equipment combinations. There will be different heroes available, each with its own skill set, strengths, and weaknesses. Egress will enter a closed beta phase soon, and you can actually apply for it right now. The developers also released a debut trailer for their upcoming title, which you can have a look at below. There’s not much gameplay to look at, but maybe that will change in the near future.

Egress is scheduled for a 2018 release.
