Roots of Pacha Game Removed From Steam In Rights Dispute With Crytivo

Roots of Pacha, A co-op farming and life simulation game set in the stone age, has been removed from Steam following a dispute with Crytivo.

Roots of Pacha under the Soda Den Team recently revealed that their farming and life simulation game has been removed from Steam following a dispute with Crytivo over the rights to the game. They claim that they worked hard to work with Crytivo to resolve the issue internally but Crytivo has gone above their heads to Valve and had them remove the game from the store. The Soda Den team posted a tweet which the Crytivo team promptly responded to with their side of the story. Crytivo claims that just two days after the release of the game, Soda Den sent them a message informing them that they “were claiming to unilaterally rescind the contract” that the team had been working under for three years. Following this contract disagreement, the game was removed “per Valve policy, if there is a dispute between parties… until the dispute is resolved”.

Hopefully a Quick Resolution

It’s never good when this happens as it can have a severe effect on the game they’ve spent 3 years working on. I’m not in a position to take a side here as I believe there is plenty of information that hasn’t been revealed about the issue but can only hope that they resolve it fast and cleanly.
