Rosewill are still a fairly unheard of name here in the UK, but they’ve been going for many years now in the US, producing a huge range of chassis, power supplies and more. Now with their brand hitting European shores, we thought it was the perfect time to get their new high-end unit, the Capstone 1000 80Plus Gold rated PSU in for testing to see what all the fuss is about.
A 1000W unit obviously isn’t going to appeal to the mass market, as few systems need this much power. However, if you’re running a multi-GPU and heavily overclocked system, all that extra power is going to come in handy, so we’re really eager to see what the Capstone can do.
The packaging is fairly straightforward, with all the usual logos on the front, as well as a badge stating a 5-year warranty; certainly a welcome bonus to have.
Around the back, a quick rundown of the main features, and as you can see, we’ve got all the usual security features we’ve come to expect from any modern unit, as well as a rundown of the power capabilities; with a whopping 83A on the +12V rail, this unit should power virtually any enthusiast-grade gaming rig.
In the box, you’ll find a protective bag for all the modular cables, a mains power cable, screws, cable ties and the usual documentation; everything you need to get you going.
