A Closer Look – Exterior

The chassis comes with a nice angular design, with a blown out left panel which offers support for a 120/140mm side mounted fan. There’s quite a lot of plastic on the top and front, but that’s nothing shocking for this price range and it looks nicely finished with a unique design to it.

The right side panel keeps with the same theme, with another raised section. Of course, on this side of the chassis, that extra room in the side panel will leave more space behind the motherboard for cable routing, which is always helpful.

The front panel is the biggest indicator of this being a budget chassis, with a lot of moulded plastic and some enclosed mesh ventilation for the front fan mounts. I do like the design, it’s about what I would expect at this price range, and would no doubt look great in a kids bedroom for a small system build.

The front I/O looks pretty standard, offering up 2 x USB 2.0 and HD audio jacks, as well as an HDD LED. There’s a single USB 3.0 on the top of the chassis, as well as a nice power button.

Around the back, you’ll find three routing grommets at the top, a pre-installed 120mm exhaust fan, although there is support to change that for a 80/70mm if you really wanted to.

The top panel has a nice long strip of ventilation, with a cool angular design. I actually think the top panel design is better than the front, and would have looked even better if they continued that right down the front of the chassis.

On the base of the chassis, a slide out dust filter for the PSU. This is a very welcome addition at this price range, where clip-on mesh filters are more common.
