Rosewill Glacier 600W Gaming Power Supply Review

Final Thoughts

Pricing

At around $50 the Glacier represents exceptional value for money. It’s certainly affordable, and the performance is simply fantastic for this price range, making it a great option for any system builder.

Conclusion

On the surface, we weren’t expecting much excitement from the Rosewill Glacier, and rightly so, it’s a budget focused PSU for mid-range system builds. However, it did have a few surprises in store for us that weren’t expecting, such as the low ripple performance, which is always a nice thing to see. Then we’ve got the fact it pulled over 900W of power, which is pretty epic for a 600W unit, so it’s got some grunt to it when needed. Finally, we have the whisper quiet fan, which barely changed from 670RPM, which is quiet as a whisper even when you’ve got your ear next to it, so pretty decent for those who like a quiet gaming rig.

The build quality is pretty good, nothing too fancy, but certainly nothing we can fault. The semi-modular design may not look as good as some full-modular designs, and there’s not a huge amount of additional cables on offer either, but it all gets the job done, and semi-modular is better than nothing. The interior is nicely laid out too, and that likely plays a big part in the cool and quiet performance, as airflow is very good throughout.

At this price, it’s hard to find a fault with the unit. We would like to see the 12V1 voltages tightened up a little bit, as they’re getting to the upper end of a good rating, but they’re consistent and performance here shouldn’t be a problem, but could still be even better.

Pros

  • Good efficiency (almost 80 Plus Silver)
  • Semi-modular cables
  • Impressive OPP
  • Whisper quiet fan
  • Exceptional value for money

Cons

  • None

Neutral

  • 12V1 voltages could be better, but are no cause for concern

“Affordable, powerful, and quiet, the Glacier 600W has a lot to offer for very little money, making it a great option for those looking to get great value for money without sacrificing performance.”
