RTX 5090 – Has A New Driver Improved Performance & The 1% Lows?
Ray Tracing F1 24

F1 24 brings the thrill of Formula 1 racing to life with its implementation of ray tracing, adding a new layer of realism to the on-track action. Ray-traced reflections accurately capture the gleaming surfaces of the cars and the vibrant colours of the race tracks, while ray-traced shadows add depth and detail to every scene. The introduction of ray-traced ambient occlusion further enhances the visual fidelity, providing more realistic and nuanced shading. Even the crowds in the grandstands benefit from ray tracing, with more detailed and dynamic lighting.

F1 24 gives us something with a bit more substance, as we actually do see some improvements over the old driver, but it’s still not by a whole lot, with 1080p seeing 4% more frames in the averages whilst the lows saw a bigger 8% increase.
1440p was less generous with its average frame rate, with an increase of only 2% more performance, but the lows saw the biggest difference in this test, with 13% more performance from the newer driver.
Then, to finish up, 4K sees our performance differences drop back down to less than 1% for both the average and 1% low, with both only seeing a 2 frame-per-second increase from the driver update.
