It’s hard to believe, but it’s been 4 years now since Alien Isolation was released. The game itself was fantastic and for the first time ever, we seemed to have a gaming entry in the franchise that was not only good but very worthy! Yes, ok, the ending was a bit ‘meh’. The journey to get there though was fantastic and made me (and others) poop their pants on more than a few occasions.
There does, however, appear to be some hot news! In a report via DSOGaming, a new Aliens game is expected to be announced at the upcoming Game Awards 2018.
Well, the rumour mill suggests that it will be called ‘Alien: Blackout’. Beyond that though, very little. It is known that trademarks have been issued for the game, but it was a little unclear until recently whether this would be a game or film. With the trademark confirming it is for gaming disks though, it’s pretty certain.
With the name being in the singular, we can assume that this game may be very similar to Alien: Isolation. As such, it seems more likely that we’ll be fighting (or hiding) from one alien rather than battling hordes of them. In fairness, in gaming terms, the former has seemed to work better than the latter.
The Gaming Awards 2018 will start on December 6th, so if you can be a little patient, we might have some big Alien news very shortly!
