We’ve heard quite a few rumours that a new Metro game was in development, and that’s hardly surprising given the games general success. However, that rumour mill just got kicked up a few gears, as the official website for the Metro 2025 novel, created by Dmitry Glukhovsky, has stated that a new game is certainly in the works and that it should be aiming for a 2017 release date! Which is obviously great news for fans of the series… kind of.
The problem here is, we’ve still not heard much of anything about the game, which points to a much later release date and given how long the PR train has to run with games these days for them to be able to make it in the AAA market, we’ll have to wait and see.
Do we think there’s a game on the way? Absolutely, and this is a pretty decent rumour from part of the games ecosystem, but do we think the 2017 date is right? Not really, 2018 would be a safer bet, but we’re happy to be proven wrong.
