Running with Scissors at Mod in Taiwan

And we come to the coverage of the last of the eight teams competing here at InWin’s Mod in Taiwan, as Daniel Harper and Dave Alcock work to complete their custom InWin 509 chassis build. Here we can see some customised components stripped out and ready to go back into the system.

The chassis here and the radiator mount, ready to be taken to the painting room and given their first coat of primer.

The side panel, not sure if this will be used, but we’ll find out tomorrow how it will be integrated to the build.

The InWin logos have been cut out by hand, ready to be backed with perspex and backlit using LEDs.

A custom cover has been created for the SSD, giving it a little extra flair.

The first batch of water cooling hardware installed on the motherboard, and just look at that lovely backplate on the GPU!

The first coat of primer going on the chassis.

Then hung out to dry after their first black coat.

The now silver painted front panel having some detail work done.

There’s still a lot more painting to go, so let’s check back with the team in the morning and see how the final build comes together!
