I’m sure many of you are tired of limited stock when it comes to the launch of new graphics cards. We’ve seen it many times before with AMD, and right now we’re still seeing elevated prices as demand for GTX 10xx hardware outstrips demand. AMD look set to tackle this issue head on, as reports are coming in that US retailers are receiving stock of the new RX 480 graphics cards, and that stock numbers are 25 times larger than what they had available for the launch of the GTX 1080! Microcenter in Overland Park, Kansas, allegedly has 100 RX 480’s, a stark difference than the 4 GTX 1080 cards they had in stock. Of course, this is also reflective of the vast price difference of the two cards.
It’s great to see the cards in the real world already, such as the Gigabyte RX480 8GB photographed above by redditor sirbeers, which is at Microcenter, Baltimore. While the official launch date isn’t here just yet, expect to see some retailers throwing caution to the wind, or not really caring about the NDA date, so if you’re eager, check your local stores and see if you can make a purchase before the official date, June 29th.
