If you’re a fan of the Total War series, then you’ll be happy to hear that WARHAMMER has just been given a big update. Not only do you get the usual range of fixes, but also support for the latest AMD Ryzen processors. This is great news for gamers, as it means the game is now better optimised to use the multi-core design of these processors, allowing for a much smoother gaming experience.
AMD made the announcement about the update, saying that you can expect to see a 10.5% improvement with the games “High” preset and up to 7% with the “UItra” graphics preset.
The “Bretonnia” update for Total War: WARHAMMER means that the game can now make use of Ryzen’s new hardware, with a better understanding of its number of logical and physical cores. We know for a fact this won’t be the last game to see this kind of update either, with AMD seeding up to 1000 developers this year.
AMD used a demo system, with the Ryzen 7 1800X, an Gigabyte GA-AX370-Gaming 5 motherboard, 2x8GB DDR4-2933 RAM, an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 (378.92 driver) and Windows 10 x64 (build 1607) running at 1080P to generate the following results.
