Safety Recall Notice: NVIDIA Shield AC Wall Adapter
Ron Perillo / 7 years ago
A safety recall has been issued by NVIDIA for users of their Shield device, specifically the European plug-head adapter. Thankfully, this is not a worldwide recall and only affects European users, as the plug head may break and create a risk of electrical shock. The Euro plug is a two-prong plug, commonly referred to as “duck head”. Unlike the US plug which has flat prongs, the Euro plug is rounded.
Identify and Replacement
There are two ways to identify whether the recall affects your plug. On the back of the adapter plug head look for the table as highlighted in the image below:
If your plug head does not have a “punch mark” in the last 2 triangles of row 16 as indicated, then proceed to register for replacement.
Alternately, on the back of the adapter plug head look for the circle with the letter “B” near the corner as indicated in the image above. If your plug does not have the letter “B” as indicated, then proceed to register for replacement.
NVIDIA will send a replacement plug for the device. Simply visit and register on this website: https://www.nvidia.com/support/adapterrecall
