There’s no doubt about it, Deep Silver and Volition are going all-out on their upcoming remake of Saints Row. Sure, it’s not the sequel we wanted, but a fresh start in one of gaming’s most fun trilogies. As you’ll see in the trailer below, there’s a lot of cool features coming to the game, albeit, it mostly just reminds me of GTA Online, but that in itself is no bad thing. The new art style is a little at odds though, it looks a little too… fortnightesque to me, but it does look fun, and I’ll really hold judgement till I play it.
“From asymmetrical facial customization to prosthetic limbs and absolutely zero restrictions based on gender, Saints Row’s unique and expansive customization options bring player choice to new heights. Anything that players envision for their Boss can easily be brought to life with the new customization tools at their fingertips. That’s not all, though. Weapon and vehicle customization have also been expanded in the newest entry in the Saints Row franchise. Ultimately, in Saints Row, player choice comes first.”
One other cool thing, beyond the endless customisation of everything from your genitals to the colour of your car, is the custom voices. The Boss, that is, the person you play as, is fully voiced by 4 male and 4 female voices, giving you a lot to pick from there!
Saints Row will release on August 23rd on all major platforms. The game will be co-op, but at this time, it doesn’t support cross-platform play.
