Samsung: Apple have no further plans to use our technology

Apple’s relationship with Samsung is really nothing but dust now, with the iPhone maker looking to really get rid of Samsung out of their lives for good. Well now we have a senior Samsung official talking to the Korea Times that Apple have made it quite clear that they have no plans to use Samsung technology in the future.
Apple’s new iPhone 5 sports an A6 processor that was designed in-house, and Samsung’s only responsibility with the processor was to be a foundry partner, and that’s it. On past Apple-based processors, Samsung were involved in both chip design and development.
Apple will now have to not only find another partner, but they’re going to need a partner with the fabrication prowess that Samsung has, so who are we left with? Well, Apple could jump into bed with TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company) – who are the world’s largest contract chip manufacturer.
The question then begs, can TSMC give Apple the type of exclusivity, huge numbers and secrecy that Samsung have given the Cupertino-based company in the past? We’ll have to wait and see…
