Samsung Unveils Three FreeSync 2 Enabled QLED HDR Displays

News of Samsung‘s plans for double-wide gaming monitors surfaced two months ago but they are now official. The three new additions include the 49-inch 4K CHG90, and the 27-inch and 32-inch WQHD CHG70 monitors. These displays will use VA-QLED panels and will be the first to feature AMD’s FreeSync 2 with QLED HDR capability. The high dynamic range picture enhancement technology is typically reserved for television and large-format displays. With the trio of new monitors, Samsung also uses their QLED quantum dot technology introduced from their QLED TV lineup. This results in accurate color reproduction with support for 125 percent of the sRGB color space and 95 percent of the DCI-P3 color space.

All three monitors are curved with an 1800R curvature and 178-degree horizontal and vertical viewing angle. The max refresh rate is set at 144Hz and Samsung also implements flicker free technology, eye saver modes and game color mode presets. Aside from the size differences, each monitor differ slightly in terms of rear connectivity. The C49HG90 for example, has one DisplayPort, one Mini-DisplayPort, and two HDMI ports. The C27GH70 and the C32HG70 on the other hand, has one full-size DisplayPort, and two HDMI ports only. All three have audio in and headphone jacks, with a USB 3.0 hub providing one-up and two downstream ports.

The 49-inch Samsung C49HG90 has an MSRP of $1,499 USD and is now available for pre-order via Amazon.com. The 32-inch C32HG70 and the 27-inch C27HG70 can be pre-ordered on NewEgg.com for their yet undisclosed release date. The larger 32-inch model has an MSRP of $699 while the 27-inch model has an MSRP of $599.
