How are you off for SSD storage? It’s certainly one of the best inexpensive upgrades you can do to a system at the moment, however, once you make the swap, one of the biggest challenges is managing your SDD capacity.
Given the exceptionally large size of game install files these days, even on a 512GB SSD, some careful organisation is sometimes required to ensure that the games you want that really pristine performance on can fit. Given that the upcoming Final Fantasy XV is reportedly going to need over 150gb of hard drive space, those of us thinking of popping that on our SSD’s might have to have more severe shuffle than usual.
So, given this, how would 4TB of SSD storage suit you? Well, Samsung might be the answer as in a report via TechPowerUp, images have leaked from their website showing the new hard drive on display.
That’s a lot of high-speed storage!
It certainly is, but such a price tag clearly comes with a significant price. With reported read speeds of 560 MB/s and write speeds of 530 MB/s the size certainly doesn’t detract from the performance, the price, however, might.
The screenshot above shows that the pricing will be from $1,899. That is rather steep, but then again remember that large sized SSD’s have never exactly been inexpensive. Even an entry-level 128gb SSD will cost around $70. So for something with this large a capacity, the price shouldn’t be too surprising.
Given the size of the 860 Pro, I must admit that it would solve a lot of problems I have on my PC in regards to storage. For the price, however, I think I can live with them for the moment. When FFXV releases… maybe not.
