Samsung Portable SSD T9 2TB Review

Samsung is by far one of the leading names for high-performance memory products. Not only because they have their own SSDs, but because they actually design and manufacture many of their own components. In fact, many of the best memory brands and SSD brands in the world use Samsung components for this reason. With all that in mind, it’s no surprise that the Samsung Portable SSD T9 is designed to be a flagship storage device, offering up to 2000 MB/s using the USB 3.2 Gen2x2 interface, and coming in 1TB, 2TB and even 4TB capacities despite its surprisingly compact form factor; we have the 2TB model in for review today.

It’s designed to be rugged too, with a case that can withstand a drop of up to three meters, and the case also doubles as a heatsink, ensuring the drive can run at its full speed without risk of thermal throttling. All this combined should ensure it’s a reliable drive for content creators on the go, should you have it hooked up to your cameras, laptops, or any other devices while you’re on a shoot, an adventure, or just sitting in the office.

Capacities and Price

  • 1TB RRP £117.49
  • 2TB RRP £199.99
  • 4TB RRP £362.79

What Samsung Had to Say

“The design concept of Samsung portable SSD T9 is ‘Luxury added to ruggedness’. The curved diagonal lines and reverse carbon patterns on the surface of T9 gives the rubber a fabric-like feel like a luxurious wallet. T9 shows both the functional and design advantages of using rubber material for the product. It gives users a comfortable grip and to be safe from low-temperature burns when held in hands. T9 is designed with a strong aluminum body and covered with rubber which makes it withstand drops up to three meters and comes with a 5-year warranty according to the creator’s use” – Samsung
