Ultra High Definition (UHD) TVs have been taking off in popularity this year as all the big panel vendors are working to get their own displays out. Samsung are the latest company to add another UHD TV to the mix. They’ve already added the 85 inch S9 UHD TV (which costs a staggering £35,000) and now they are adding two more. The two new models are 55 and 65 inch UHD TVs and these will be more affordable options from the Samsung UHD TV range.
Apparently these two TVs will begin sale in August, though the pre-order window has run since July 21st 2013. These two new TVs support Samsung’s Evolution Kit for future software upgrades and have built in SD/HD content upscaling to reach that UHD quality. The UHD resolution in question is 3840 by 2160 which is quadHD (aka the same as four 1080p panels “stuck together”). These TVs will also have 2 way 2.2 channel 70W RMS audio.
Prices are much more affordable than their 85 inch S9 UHD TV. The 55 inch model will start at $5499.99 and the 65 inch model at £7499.99. The series name of these TVs is F9000.
