When it comes to curved screen that waters are split. While many people believe them to be the future, there are just as many who wish it to stay flat. For those who can’t or won’t decide, Samsung has the option, make it bendable. The new screen has a 21:9 aspect ratio and Samsung’s fancy dimming and upscaling technology, in a bid to get you a better viewing experience. There’s no word yet on pricing or availability, but expect this enormous screen to carry an equally enormous price tag around $120.000.
“We have tripled our lineup,” a Samsung spokesperson announced at IFA, Europe’s biggest technology show. While Samsung is betting big on the curved screens with 17 different models at the moment, ranging from 48 to 105 inches in size, they know it isn’t for everyone. There actually isn’t any shortage of models to chose from in this screen-size, which is a bit surprising. Samsung and LG are battling it out with one stunning model after another since CES in January.
It’s probably highly unlikely for any of us to ever get a screen size like that, but it’s sure fun to think about. I’m sure most of you knew exactly how and where you would use it. But assuming I could afford it, I’d very much welcome that the curved screen only is an option and not permanent. Cause I haven’t made up my mind yet if I like it or not, I guess it depends on the the usage and situation.
