Samsung Reveal Their Latest Ultra HD Monitor

4K monitors are cropping up all over the pace right now, but this one really stands out from the crowd, not only because it’s a whopping 32″ 4K Ultra HD display, but also because it features some rather interesting specifications. The display is targeted at digital imaging pros and features a 3840 x 2160 display that is capable of displaying over a billion colours thanks to its 10-bit colour processing engine, with a slim silver trim bezel that has a slight inward angle, giving a subtle photo frame effect.

The real technical stuff comes in the form of 11 different colour presets, with eight pre-programmed and three user-customizable. The preloaded settings are all specific industry used ones, such as those used in medical imaging, film editing and web design. The monitor can also be turned into portrait mode, height adjusted and tilted in any direction, and Samsung have ensured that the screen pivots from the rear centre of the screen, not from the stand.

You can display multiple inputs simultaneously using the build in split-screen or quadrants features, each will benefit from a full 1920 x 1080p section of the screen. These can be fed from any combination of the HDMI, dual DisplayPorts and DVI ports on the monitor and there are four powered USB ports for hooking up your devices.

The monitor isn’t cheap at $1,999 each, but given the size and the specifications it’s actually pretty competitive when compared with similar offerings from the likes of Asus and Dell.
