Samsung Reveals Strong Smartphone Sales In China

Samsung has revealed some impressive figures for its activities in China. According to Strategy Analytics Samsung managed to ship 19.4% of all the smartphones in the Chinese market, that’s up 0.9% over the previous quarter. That amounted to 15 million smartphone sales making Samsung the Chinese market’s biggest smartphone vendor. This is even more impressive if you consider the Chinese based smartphone vendors like Lenovo, Coolpad and ZTE all trailed Samsung with around 9.7 to 12.3% market shares according to yonhapnews.co.kr.

Overall shipments in China for the second quarter of 2013 were 78.8 million units. This represents a hefty 34% of global sales in that second quarter period. That said Samsung will probably continue to remain a strong force as long as it can continue to dominate the rapidly growing Asian markets. Just recently we heard that Apple was having a very tough time in China falling to a mediocre 0.5% of the market share. This means that Samsung has almost 40 times the market share of Apple in China – a significant lead.
