CES 2013 can’t come quick enough, and although we’ve already had Sony, LG and Toshiba have all unveiled 4K sets, now it’s Samsung’s turn. Samsung are going to unveil their 85-inch Ultra High-Definition LED TV at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas early next year.
Samsung are branding the new display as “the world’s largest commercialised UHD LED TV”, sporting more than eight million pixels and “life-like picture quality”. Samsung haven’t really hinted outside of that little tease on what else to expect, but we’ve already seen fellow South Korean TV maker LG announce their 84-inch 4K 3D display which reached the US last month for $20,000.
Sony and Toshiba both also have 4K sets at 84-inch, so Samsung’s 85-inch is just a single inch bigger, giving them bragging rights on the “world’s biggest commercialised UHD LED TV”. Samsung haven’t unveiled a price range or release date, but it should be a while before we can expect it to be in front of our eyes in our living rooms.
